I booked an appointment a week in advance and was very excited to have my hair done since I haven't in a very long time. I booked here because I have heard wonderful things from former and current students. Upon arrival I was quietly taken to the back and asked questions about my hair. I made it very clear what I wanted and how I wanted it to look. I asked for it to be blonde and lightened, not light brown and not all one color. Blonde. This is far from what I received. My student hair dresser was very nice and they teacher was also very nice. Im not to sure if I just really do not understand the idea of highlights because they look horrendous. I was at the salon for about 5 hours and left with almost exactly the same hair color I had before I came in. Not to mention they charged me for a second bowl when they only used one. 98 dollars was what I was charged, and for that I did not expect what I got. I left very upset and will not be returninkg to the school.
Side note: I happened to go with a friend who goes there regularly. She walked out that night with BRIGHT and embarrassing orange roots because her stylist did not bleach and tone her hair properly. ( my friend already has blonde hair, she was getting it lightened-- very basic process, and again, one she endures every 6 weeks.) She had to go back the following two days for four hours each time to correct the issue. They tried to make her pay for those corrections, but she put up a huge fight about it. I brushed it off as just getting the bad luck of an experienced stylist...
It's always been great except for today.
I came in the second time for a refresher of what had already been done the first time-- round layers (an easy cut) and a brightening of my fashion color. I am very easy-going and I kept saying that I would love it, as long as I didn't walk out with green hair. I was also excited because they have a new 2-procedure policy limit so that I don't get stuck there too late!
Over the years I have been to different places, some very reputable places, and my best experiences have been at Paul Mitchell School. I feel my hair gets done the best, feel it's the highest quality, and feel this is at extremely reasonable prices. I get exactly what I want done each and every time, and have been a regular customer! They get the color exactly right, my hair remains healthy, and my hair is highlighted a level 10 blonde, with a base color of a cool honey blonde. Cool and honey I wouldn't think would be used in the same sentence, but it is in this fabulous case! My natural color is a level 6 light brown. The students that worked with me have been so dedicated to this profession, and so customer focused, and the instructors- WOW! I have been so impressed with their expertise, feel they are the best of the best in the profession, feel they would be perfect working in Hollywood because I think they are that good, and I am so impressed with their expertise. I feel in superlative hands. A special shout out of kudos to Kevin and Jemma, who impress me with being brilliant and talented in all aspects of the field, and what stands out for me is Kevin with color formulations, and Jemma for special techniques with cutting. I get a lot of attention in and out of the school complimenting me, and I appreciate this school for their excellent work, have been a regular, loyal, happy customer. I also appreciate the charities they do, and have participated in some. I believe in helping out for the higher good, and I appreciate being able to combine beauty and doing this! Great hair products are sold here too. I really appreciate Paul Mitchell!
It always takes hours because they are students. Which I don't mind but Today I go outside after 3 hours to take 5 min break like I've done for 7 years and these RUDE bi**he's that work or go to school there yell all kinds of bs about why I can't be outside. Later, I finish first and I'm waiting for my mother Im waiting in line to use their restroom and another rude b says in a RUDE tone can I help you with something. As if I'm not a client and shouldn't use their restroom. I'm not sure I'll ever go back after these rude c**ts. Not sure if they have new management or what but this is a great way to lose clients. SALON o Greenwich faster better and no rudes snatches
Unfortunately, I recommend avoiding this place altogether.
I walked out 3.25 hours later with WET, un-cut and un-styled hair. I had to "pretty please" my way into getting my bangs trimmed because we were approaching the closing time. My stylist's supervisor would not allow her to cut or blow dry my hair. This is, of course, after I'd already paid $86 for a cut and color.
I had a great experience there when I was a model for my niece (I won't share her name) (retaliation). She graduated from the school and usually they hold a party for anyone who graduates, unfortunately they seem to play favorites and my niece left there without any fanfare. My belief is what you do for one you do for all. In the future I will spread the word not to frequent this establishment due to the fact that they are reinforcing what everyone seems to be fighting so hard to eliminate favoritism and bullying. Also I don't even want to give one star but unfortunately you can't post without it.
I've been here twice, both times for a cut and color. The first time went well, though it was clear that they do NOT value efficiency. It took 3.25 hours to get my hair done. However, I liked the results so much, and I understand that it is a school, that I made another appointment with the same stylist for 7 weeks later.
I've been going here for about 7 years.
As for the color? You guessed it: GREEN. Bottom line: I left this school after over 4 hours with wet, green, un-cut hair. It looks terrible. It was one of those moments where you're so shocked, you don't even know what to do.
